===============================

Document: Mold_Program_Overview.txt
Status: Program Overview
Applies To: All casting molds, licensed casting shops, and home casting participants

--------------------------------------------------
1. PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
The Mold Program defines how casting molds are designed, licensed,
used, and governed within the Carrito platform.

It exists to enable distributed fabrication while maintaining
safety, repeatability, and traceability.

--------------------------------------------------
2. CORE PRINCIPLE
--------------------------------------------------
Not all cast parts are equal.

The Mold Program explicitly distinguishes between:
- Structural parts
- Non-critical parts
- Cosmetic or reinforcement parts

--------------------------------------------------
3. OFFICIAL MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Official Carrito molds:
- Are platform-approved designs
- Are licensed, not sold outright
- Carry revision identifiers
- Include usage and material guidance

Molds may be:
- Commercial shop-grade
- Home-foundry compatible
- Educational or experimental

--------------------------------------------------
4. HOME CASTING PHILOSOPHY
--------------------------------------------------
Home casting is supported for:
- Non-critical components
- Reinforcement elements
- Brackets, housings, and covers

Critical components may require
licensed casting environments.

--------------------------------------------------
5. SOUP-CAN FOUNDRY ACKNOWLEDGMENT
--------------------------------------------------
The platform acknowledges:
- Small-scale furnaces
- Improvised foundry setups
- Educational and experimental casting

These methods are:
- Encouraged for learning
- Restricted for safety-critical parts

--------------------------------------------------
6. MATERIAL DECLARATION
--------------------------------------------------
All cast parts must declare:
- Alloy or material type
- Casting method
- Heat treatment (if any)

--------------------------------------------------
7. TRACEABILITY
--------------------------------------------------
Cast parts must include:
- Mold identifier
- Batch or pour identifier
- Casting shop or builder ID

--------------------------------------------------
8. GOVERNANCE AND FEES
--------------------------------------------------
Mold licensing may include:
- Per-use fees
- Batch-based reporting
- Contribution back to platform upkeep

--------------------------------------------------
9. EVOLUTION AND REVISION
--------------------------------------------------
Molds evolve through:
- Revision updates
- Field feedback
- Controlled iteration

--------------------------------------------------
10. SUMMARY
--------------------------------------------------
The Mold Program enables creativity
without pretending metallurgy is magic.

Freedom with honesty.
Access with accountability.
