CARITO MOLD CLASSIFICATION STANDARD v1.0
=================================

Document: Mold_Classification.txt
Status: Risk and Use Classification Standard
Applies To: All Carrito casting molds and cast components

--------------------------------------------------
1. PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
This document classifies Carrito molds by risk level and approved
casting environment. It provides clear guidance on where and how
a mold may be used.

--------------------------------------------------
2. CORE PRINCIPLE
--------------------------------------------------
Mold classification is based on:
- Safety impact
- Structural importance
- Consequence of failure

Not all molds are equal.

--------------------------------------------------
3. CLASS I — NON-CRITICAL MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Designation:
CLASS I

Description:
Non-structural, non-safety-critical components.

Examples:
- Covers and housings
- Brackets and mounts
- Decorative or cosmetic elements
- Reinforcement blocks labeled as non-load-bearing

Approved Environments:
- Home foundry
- Educational workshop
- Licensed shop

--------------------------------------------------
4. CLASS II — STRUCTURAL SUPPORT MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Designation:
CLASS II

Description:
Structural components that do not directly affect
propulsion or occupant safety.

Examples:
- Frame reinforcement elements
- MMF auxiliary brackets
- Power Frame secondary supports

Approved Environments:
- Licensed fabrication shop
- Supervised educational facility

Home casting permitted only if explicitly allowed by mold documentation.

--------------------------------------------------
5. CLASS III — POWER SYSTEM MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Designation:
CLASS III

Description:
Components involved in power generation, transmission,
or mounting of power units.

Examples:
- Engine mounts
- Generator housings
- CMZ structural components

Approved Environments:
- Licensed casting shop only

Home casting prohibited.

--------------------------------------------------
6. CLASS IV — CRITICAL ENGINE COMPONENT MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Designation:
CLASS IV

Description:
Safety-critical or high-stress engine components.

Examples:
- Pistons
- Cylinder heads
- Intake or exhaust manifolds
- Bearing carriers

Approved Environments:
- Licensed, certified casting facilities only

Home casting strictly prohibited.

--------------------------------------------------
7. LABELING REQUIREMENTS
--------------------------------------------------
All molds must be clearly labeled with:
- Mold class
- Approved environments
- Material requirements
- Revision identifier

--------------------------------------------------
8. MISUSE AND ENFORCEMENT
--------------------------------------------------
Using a mold outside its approved environment:
- Voids certification claims
- May trigger participation suspension
- Transfers responsibility to the builder

--------------------------------------------------
9. SUMMARY
--------------------------------------------------
Classification removes ambiguity.

Builders know the risks.
Shops know their responsibilities.
