CARITO SMALL GRID MMF CAGE STANDARD v1.0
=====================================

Document: SG_MMF_Cage_Standard.txt
Status: Grid Specification / Non-Negotiable
Applies To: All Small Grid Motor Modular Frame (MMF) cages

--------------------------------------------------
1. PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
This document defines the construction, geometry, interfaces, and protected
features of the Small Grid (SG) Motor Modular Frame cage.

The MMF cage is the structural and geometric anchor for all Small Grid power systems.

--------------------------------------------------
2. ROLE OF THE MMF CAGE
--------------------------------------------------
The MMF cage:
- Bolts to the vehicle chassis
- Encloses the Small Grid Sacred Power Volume (SG-SPV)
- Defines all power and service interfaces
- Accepts interchangeable Power Frames

The cage itself is not engine-specific and must remain unchanged
to preserve compatibility.

--------------------------------------------------
3. SG-MMF CAGE ENVELOPE
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage must fully enclose the SG-SPV.

Reference internal envelope (from SG_SPV_Spec):
- Length: 28 in (711 mm)
- Width: 22 in (559 mm)
- Height: 22 in (559 mm)

External cage dimensions depend on material selection
and are not standardized beyond clearance requirements.

--------------------------------------------------
4. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS
--------------------------------------------------
Allowed materials:
- Steel round tube
- Steel square or rectangular tube

Minimum requirements:
- Consistent material throughout the cage
- Continuous load paths
- Welded or bolted construction using approved practices

No cast components may be structural in the SG-MMF cage.

--------------------------------------------------
5. REFERENCE PLANES
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage defines three immutable planes:

Chassis Interface Plane (CIP):
- Bottom plane of cage
- Defines attachment to chassis
- Must be flat and square

Power Output Plane (POP):
- Rear plane of cage
- Defines power exit location

Service Access Plane (SAP):
- Top plane of cage
- Must allow access via removable panel or opening

These planes must not move between revisions.

--------------------------------------------------
6. CAGE-TO-CHASSIS MOUNTING
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage uses a fixed mounting pattern.

Minimum configuration:
- Four primary mounting points at cage corners
- Mounts designed primarily for shear loads
- Use of isolators or bushings permitted

Optional:
- Two mid-rail mounts for higher torque builds

Mount locations must be symmetric.

--------------------------------------------------
7. INTERNAL SUPPORTS AND HARDPOINTS
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage may include welded internal supports that:
- Are engine-agnostic
- Define standard hardpoints
- Support rails, shelves, or lock zones

Permanent supports must not:
- Reduce SG-SPV envelope
- Block service corridors
- Define engine-specific geometry

--------------------------------------------------
8. POWER FRAME INTERFACE
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage must support:
- Installation of removable Power Frames
- Floating alignment during installation
- Lock-in via bolts, clamps, or approved weld tabs

The cage must not require cutting or grinding
to swap Power Frames.

--------------------------------------------------
9. WELDING POLICY
--------------------------------------------------
Welding is permitted for:
- Cage construction
- Permanent supports
- Approved lock zones

Welding directly to engine-specific mounts
is prohibited at the cage level.

--------------------------------------------------
10. ACCESS AND SERVICEABILITY
--------------------------------------------------
The SG-MMF cage must allow:
- Top access to power systems
- Side access to wiring and conversion components
- Rear access to output and connectors

Permanent obstruction of access is prohibited.

--------------------------------------------------
11. HEAT, COOLING, AND EXHAUST
--------------------------------------------------
The cage must include:
- Attachment points for heat shields
- Defined corridors for exhaust routing
- Clearance for airflow and cooling

The cage must not act as a heat sink
for exhaust components.

--------------------------------------------------
12. IDENTIFICATION AND LABELING
--------------------------------------------------
Each SG-MMF cage must:
- Carry a permanent serial identifier
- Display grid designation (SG)
- Be labeled before installation

--------------------------------------------------
13. COMPLIANCE
--------------------------------------------------
Any modification to:
- Cage envelope
- Reference planes
- Mount pattern

invalidates Small Grid compliance.

--------------------------------------------------
14. AMENDMENTS
--------------------------------------------------
Changes to this standard require:
- Version increment
- Change log entry
- Platform justification

--------------------------------------------------
END OF SG-MMF CAGE STANDARD
