CARITO COMMUNITY PROFIT SHARE MODEL v1.0
==========================================

Document: Carrito_Community_Profit_Share_Model.txt
Status: Profit Allocation Framework
Applies To: Community-owned Carrito shops and participating contributors

--------------------------------------------------
PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
This document defines how profits generated by a
Carrito Community-Owned Shop may be allocated and shared.

It exists to reward contribution without creating
passive investment expectations.

--------------------------------------------------
CORE PRINCIPLE
--------------------------------------------------
Profit follows contribution.

No work, no share.
No promises without participation.

--------------------------------------------------
WHAT COUNTS AS PROFIT
--------------------------------------------------
Profit is defined as revenue remaining after:
- Operating expenses
- Tool maintenance
- Consumables
- Rent and utilities
- Required reserves

Profit is calculated periodically,
not per job.

--------------------------------------------------
PRIORITY ORDER
--------------------------------------------------
When profit exists, allocation should follow this order:

1. Shop Sustainability
   - Maintenance
   - Tool replacement
   - Emergency reserves

2. Labor Compensation
   - Paid operators
   - Contracted work
   - Overtime or surge periods

3. Contributor Profit Share
   - Based on logged contribution
   - Time, skill, or responsibility weighted

4. Community Reinvestment
   - Training
   - Outreach
   - Equipment upgrades

--------------------------------------------------
ELIGIBLE CONTRIBUTORS
--------------------------------------------------
Eligible contributors may include:
- Operators
- Fabricators
- Certified builders
- Trainers or mentors

Eligibility must be documented.

--------------------------------------------------
WHAT DOES NOT QUALIFY
--------------------------------------------------
The following do not qualify for profit share:
- Donations alone
- Passive membership
- One-time contributions without follow-up

--------------------------------------------------
PROFIT SHARE METHODS
--------------------------------------------------
Profit share may be distributed as:
- Direct payments
- Credits toward shop services
- Equipment access credits

Methods should be chosen transparently.

--------------------------------------------------
TRANSPARENCY
--------------------------------------------------
Shops should:
- Publish simple profit summaries
- Explain allocation decisions
- Maintain contributor records

--------------------------------------------------
NO GUARANTEES
--------------------------------------------------
Profit sharing:
- Is not guaranteed
- Depends on shop success
- May be paused during lean periods

--------------------------------------------------
RELATIONSHIP TO FUNDRAISING
--------------------------------------------------
Fundraising participation does not
entitle profit share.

Fundraising builds capacity.
Contribution builds eligibility.

--------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
--------------------------------------------------
Profit sharing rewards effort,
not optimism.

Build value first.
Share honestly.

--------------------------------------------------
END OF PROFIT SHARE MODEL
