======================================

Document: Carrito_Builder_Directory_Overview.txt
Status: Public-Facing Directory Explanation
Applies To: Customers, builders, shops, and community organizers

--------------------------------------------------
PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
This document explains what the Carrito Builder Directory is,
why it exists, and how it should be used.

The directory is a discovery and trust tool,
not a gate to the platform.

--------------------------------------------------
WHAT THE DIRECTORY IS
--------------------------------------------------
The Carrito Builder Directory is a public listing of:

- Carrito Certified builders
- Carrito Certified shops
- Community build locations (where applicable)

Builders listed in the directory have chosen to:
- Participate in the certified builder program
- Maintain documentation and disclosure standards
- Support the platform through listing participation

--------------------------------------------------
WHAT THE DIRECTORY IS NOT
--------------------------------------------------
The directory is not:
- A requirement to build Carrito vehicles
- A claim of government approval
- A ranking or endorsement of skill
- A guarantee of legality or performance

--------------------------------------------------
WHY SOME BUILDERS ARE LISTED
--------------------------------------------------
Builders appear in the directory because they:

- Meet certification requirements
- Participate in the builder community
- Agree to directory standards
- Pay a listing or participation fee

Listing supports:
- Platform maintenance
- Moderation
- Documentation upkeep
- Builder community infrastructure

--------------------------------------------------
OPEN BUILDERS AND THE DIRECTORY
--------------------------------------------------
Open community builders:
- May build using Carrito documentation
- May sell or service vehicles
- Do not appear in the directory unless certified

This distinction preserves openness
while allowing customers to identify
builders who participate in shared processes.

--------------------------------------------------
HOW CUSTOMERS SHOULD USE THE DIRECTORY
--------------------------------------------------
Customers should use the directory to:
- Find certified builders
- Identify local shops
- Verify certification claims
- Ask informed questions

The directory is a starting point,
not a replacement for due diligence.

--------------------------------------------------
INFORMATION INCLUDED
--------------------------------------------------
Directory listings may include:
- Builder or shop name
- Location or service area
- Certification status
- Supported grid types
- Offered services

--------------------------------------------------
CHANGES AND REMOVALS
--------------------------------------------------
Listings may be updated or removed if:
- Certification lapses
- Disclosure rules are violated
- Participation ends

--------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
--------------------------------------------------
The builder directory exists to create visibility,
not exclusivity.

Documentation stays open.
Trust remains traceable.
