Status: Orientation and Entry Guide
Applies To: New builders, hobbyists, shops, and contributors

--------------------------------------------------
1. WELCOME
--------------------------------------------------
Welcome to Carrito.

Carrito is a modular vehicle platform designed to let people build,
modify, and experiment without chaos or guesswork.

This guide explains how the system fits together and how to start
without getting lost.

--------------------------------------------------
2. START WITH THE GRID
--------------------------------------------------
Carrito vehicles are organized by grid size.

Small Grid (SG):
- Baseline street legal path
- Simplest and most common
- Recommended starting point

Large Grid (LG):
- Advanced and specialty builds
- Not baseline street legal

Deluxe Large Grid (DLG):
- Conceptual only in v1
- Not buildable by default

--------------------------------------------------
3. UNDERSTAND THE MMF
--------------------------------------------------
The Motor Modular Frame (MMF) is the heart of the system.

It:
- Separates the vehicle from the engine
- Allows power systems to be swapped
- Preserves inspection clarity

Never modify the MMF cage geometry.

--------------------------------------------------
4. POWER FRAMES
--------------------------------------------------
Power Frames turn engines or motors into modules.

Start with:
- Certified reference Power Frames
- Small Grid baseline examples

Power Frames can be replaced later without rebuilding the vehicle.

--------------------------------------------------
5. SLEDS AND CMZ
--------------------------------------------------
Engines live on sleds.
Power conversion happens in the CMZ.

These layers:
- Isolate complexity
- Make service easier
- Prevent shortcuts

--------------------------------------------------
6. HELPING HAND MODULES
--------------------------------------------------
Helping Hand modules add tool capability.

They are:
- Optional
- Powered separately
- Disabled while driving

Install them only after the vehicle works properly.

--------------------------------------------------
7. CASTING AND MOLDS
--------------------------------------------------
Casting is supported, but classified.

Start with:
- Non-critical molds
- Licensed or approved environments

Do not cast engine internals casually.

--------------------------------------------------
8. BUILD CLASSES
--------------------------------------------------
Class A:
- Baseline
- Conservative
- Inspectable

Class B:
- Optimized
- Specialized

Class C:
- Experimental
- Labeled
- Not street legal

Know which class you are in.

--------------------------------------------------
9. STREET LEGALITY
--------------------------------------------------
Baseline street legality:
- Requires Small Grid
- Requires Class A
- Requires certified components

Local laws still apply.

--------------------------------------------------
10. DOCUMENTATION
--------------------------------------------------
Keep records.

You will need:
- Serial identifiers
- Power Frame specs
- Build notes

Documentation protects you.

--------------------------------------------------
11. SHOPS AND COMMUNITY
--------------------------------------------------
You may:
- Build yourself
- Use a community shop
- Work with licensed fabricators

Choose based on risk and experience.

--------------------------------------------------
12. START SIMPLE
--------------------------------------------------
Recommended first build:
- Small Grid
- Reference Power Frame
- No experimental casting
- No Helping Hand

You can always upgrade later.

--------------------------------------------------
13. SUMMARY
--------------------------------------------------
Carrito rewards patience and honesty.

Build clean.
Label clearly.
Experiment responsibly.
