CARITO PLATFORM LAW v1.0
========================

Document: 01_Platform_Law.txt
Status: Foundational / Non‑Negotiable
Applies To: All Carrito grids, modules, vehicles, shops, and builders

--------------------------------------------------
1. PURPOSE
--------------------------------------------------
The Carrito Platform exists to define a modular, repairable, and locally buildable vehicle system.
This law establishes the core rules that govern all Carrito designs, documents, modules, and
participating shops. All downstream documents must comply with this law.

Carrito is a plans‑based platform. It is not a manufacturer, reseller, or vehicle seller.

--------------------------------------------------
2. DESIGN AUTHORITY
--------------------------------------------------
The authority of the Carrito platform is expressed through:
- Published platform laws
- Published grid standards
- Published module standards
- Declared compatibility classes

No individual build, shop preference, or local optimization overrides platform law.

--------------------------------------------------
3. MODULARITY IS A REQUIREMENT
--------------------------------------------------
All Carrito systems must be modular by design.

This means:
- Chassis must not be redesigned to fit engines
- Engines must adapt to defined frames
- Power systems must be removable
- Upgrades must not invalidate prior builds

If a system cannot be modularized, it does not belong in the baseline platform.

--------------------------------------------------
4. SEPARATION OF CONCERNS
--------------------------------------------------
Carrito separates responsibility into layers:

- Law defines what is allowed
- Grids define physical scale
- Frames define interfaces
- Modules define function
- Vehicles are assemblies of modules

No layer may silently modify another.

--------------------------------------------------
5. THE SACRED PRINCIPLE
--------------------------------------------------
The chassis is sacred.
The Motor Modular Frame is sacred.
The Sacred Power Volume is sacred.

These elements define compatibility and must not be altered to accommodate a specific power source.

--------------------------------------------------
6. GRID PRIMACY
--------------------------------------------------
All Carrito designs exist within a defined grid.

Grid size determines:
- Physical envelope
- Power expectations
- Compatibility limits

Engines do not define grids.
Grids define which engines are allowed.

--------------------------------------------------
7. POWER NEUTRALITY
--------------------------------------------------
Carrito is power‑agnostic.

Gasoline, electric, hybrid, generator‑based, and future power systems are all valid,
provided they obey grid and frame rules.

No power system may force a chassis redesign.

--------------------------------------------------
8. COMPATIBILITY CLASSES
--------------------------------------------------
Every module and build must declare a compatibility class.

Class A: Fully compliant and future‑compatible
Class B: Optimized, limited future compatibility
Class C: Experimental or extended, no future guarantees

Compatibility must be explicit, not implied.

--------------------------------------------------
9. TRUTHFUL IDENTIFICATION
--------------------------------------------------
All major components must be correctly named and serialized.

Serials:
- Must be truthful
- Must reflect real capability
- Must not misrepresent compatibility

If a module cannot be named correctly, it is not compliant.

--------------------------------------------------
10. SHOPS AND BUILDERS
--------------------------------------------------
Builders are free to innovate.
Shops are free to specialize.

Neither may:
- Mislabel builds
- Hide deviations
- Claim baseline compliance where it does not exist

Transparency is mandatory.

--------------------------------------------------
11. BASELINE VS EXPERIMENTAL
--------------------------------------------------
Baseline systems:
- Are conservative
- Are inspectable
- Are documented
- Are intended for street‑legal use

Experimental systems:
- Must be clearly labeled
- Must not be sold as baseline
- Must not silently enter production designs

--------------------------------------------------
12. NO FORCED OBSOLESCENCE
--------------------------------------------------
The platform must not intentionally strand early builders.

Future improvements must:
- Fit existing frames where possible
- Be clearly classified when they do not
- Never require chassis replacement as a default

--------------------------------------------------
13. LOCAL RESPONSIBILITY
--------------------------------------------------
Carrito provides standards, not guarantees.

Final responsibility for:
- Legal compliance
- Inspection approval
- Build quality

rests with the builder and local authority.

--------------------------------------------------
14. LAW PRECEDENCE
--------------------------------------------------
If two documents conflict:
- Platform Law overrides all
- Grid Law overrides module standards
- Module standards override vehicle layouts

--------------------------------------------------
15. AMENDMENTS
--------------------------------------------------
Changes to this document require:
- Explicit version increment
- Clear change log entry
- Justification tied to platform integrity

--------------------------------------------------
END OF PLATFORM LAW
--------------------------------------------------
